Michael Matthews & Associates was founded by Michael (Mike) Matthews over 20 years ago and we have grown into a highly successful firm with five professional attorneys, two of whom are partners.
Michael Matthews (BPROC; UCT)
After spending the first part of his life in Zimbabwe, Mike studied at UCT and qualified in 1983. After 12 successful years in partnership at C & A Friedlander, Mike formed his own practice in 1997, Michael Matthews and Associates. Mike specialises in commercial law and disputes, High Court litigation, Labour Law, Wills and the Administration of Deceased Estates. When he is not working, his hobbies include waterpolo, creative writing and cycling.
Damian Enslin (BA.LLB; UNISA)
Damian is a qualified Notary and Conveyancer who has been a partner at Michael Matthews & Associates since 2004 and who, in common with his colleagues, is passionate about service. Damian specialises in conveyancing and property-related law, including freehold and sectional title ownership, and mortgage bond registrations. Damian also specialises in legal issues relating to the Firearms Control Act of 2000, and is able to assist with firearm licence applications, appeals, accreditation of sports shooting bodies and businesses. Security companies can also call Damian to assist with compliance issues as well as with license applications. In his spare time, he practices karate and is a firearm fundi.
Amber Stucke (BA; Wits & LLB; UCT)
Amber joined our firm on the 6th March 2020 as an associate at Michael Matthews and specialises in Magistrate and High Court litigation, personal injury claims, firearms licencing and deceased estates. Amber completed her Batchelor of Arts, majoring in Politics and Law at the University of the Witwatersrand and her LLB at the University of Cape Town. When she is not working, Amber spends her time at the beach and on Cape Town’s hiking trails.
Neill Lang (BSocSci, LLB UCT; BSocSci (Hons) SACAP)
Neill joined our firm on the 6th of January 2020 and is currently serving his articles with Michael Matthews & Associates under the supervision of Barry Gregg. Neill completed a Bachelor of Social Sciences majoring in Psychology and Organisational Psychology at the University of Cape Town, followed by an Honours degree in Psychology at the South African College of Applied Psychology, before returning to the University of Cape Town to complete his postgraduate LLB. In his free time, Neill enjoys reading, socialising with friends, hiking and playing hockey.
